Managing Director of BK International Brian Tiwari says works on the four lane road at Diamond, East Bank Demerara have been stalled due to a gas pipe belonging to the Demerara Distiller’s Limited.
Tiwari says materials are on the ground while they await a decision from a meeting which is to be held with Dr. Yesu Persaud, Executive Chairman of DDL soon.
In the meantime, Tiwari says the delay is pushing the works way beyond the deadline while costing his company money. Meanwhile, on the expansion of the road at Timehri, the Managing Director says the main problem lies with utility companies.
Tiwari says GWI and GPL have already cleared their path but that GT&T remains in their way. He says it costs BK approximately $100M monthly to maintain staff while they are not getting anywhere with the project.
