A desperate father is now seeking the public’s assistance in locating his daughter and her mother, who have been missing for more than two weeks now.
Missing are Gabriella Pertab, 11 years old, and her mother- a Venezuelan National- Veronica Escobar, 36, of lot 229 D’andrade Street, Newtown, Kitty, Georgetown.
According to the child’s father, Brian Pertab- who resides in the United States- two Sundays ago, he attempted to call his child’s mother but received no answer. He noted that after several calls and efforts to make contact with Escobar proved futile, he opted to call his daughter’s school.
“I kept calling and calling, and no one answered. I don’t have any other relatives in Guyana, so I contacted Marian’s Academy to find out if she was there,” he explained.
Pertab recalled that to his dismay, the teachers informed him that his child had not reported to school for several days.
As such, he returned to Guyana on Tuesday to continue his search for the duo.
The distressed father told Inews that he has made reports of them being missing at the Eve Leary Police Station and has even “made immigration checks to see if they left the country.”
However, it has all led to a dead end thus far he related.
Pertab, who did not divulge much about the child’s mother, explained that he has maintained a ‘remarkable’ relationship with Escobar over the years, and would contact her and his daughter constantly from abroad. He recalled that his last visit to Guyana was in September 2016.
The father also noted that this is the first time an incident of this nature has ever occurred, and he is extremely worried, while highlighting that Escobar has never made threats to take his child from him in the past.
The frantic parent is requesting that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of his child and her mother to contact him on 592-611-0777 or 592-231-8676 or to call the nearest police station.
