[www.inewsguyana.com] – Dem Amstel ‘A’ booked their place in the final eight of the Mackeson’s ‘King of the Rim’ 3-on-3 tournament when the competition held the ‘Best of the West’ title on Tuesday, December 09 at Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara.
Michael Clarke hit a go ahead dagger from beyond the arc to win the game for Dem Amstel ‘A’ 10-8 over the Uitvlugt Giants after the game was tied 8-8 in the final minute of play.
Den Amstel’s evening started on a negative note as they lost to Den Amstel ‘B’ 7-6 in their opening game.
However, they rebounded with a close 12-11 win against Invictus in overtime before topping Tuschen Woodcrest 7-2 in their Group ‘B’ final to top the group.
Meanwhile, before the Giants’ loss to Den Amstel ‘A’, Uitvlugt Giants played phenomenal defeating Uitvlugt Warriors 12-9 while thumping Fire Service ‘B’12-4 and Fire Service ‘A’ to reach the final.
In other results; Invictus defeated Tuschen Woodcrest 8-7, Tuschen Woodcrest defeated Den Amstel ‘B’ 9-8, Fire Service ‘A’ thrashed Fire Service ‘B’ 8-1 and Uitvlugt Warriors beat Fire Service ‘A’ 5-0.
The Mackeson ‘King of the Rim’ tournament will continue tonight [Thursday, December 11] at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court in Linden.
