The unidentified body of a male of African descent was found washed up along the seawall in Kitty, Georgetown, this morning.
The discovery was made around 09:00hrs when passersby smelled a terrible stench and noticed the body lying on the sand bank. Law enforcement officials were summoned immediately to the scene.
According to Commander of “A” Division, Clifton Hicken, the body is slightly decomposed and appeared to have been “floating and washed up” at that location. However, it is too soon to speculate whether foul play was involved or if the individual met his demise naturally, he said.
Meanwhile, the investigating ranks have already notified all police stations with the information trying to ascertain whether the body found is that of a missing person.
Investigations are presently on-going.
