The annual Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) summer camp is slated to commence on August 8, once the weather is favourable.
The camp which is held at the club’s Queenstown, Georgetown ground has been in existence for five years, and under the stewardship of National Youth Coach Garvin Nedd, it teaches young cricketers the technical aspects of cricket along with the importance of socializing and fundamentals of the game.
The two-week long camp specifically targets the younger group, namely the Under-13, U15 and U19s, some of whom go on to represent Guyana at the various levels.
Both current and former National players usually make appearances, sharing their experiences with the players.
