Chasing teams have generally held a distinct advantage against Lions as well – in their two IPL seasons, Lions have only won once while batting first, in 12 attempts. That one win, however, came against Daredevils last season.

Daredevils made one change to the team that lost by 146 runs to Mumbai Indians, bringing in Carlos Brathwaite for Kagiso Rabada, who has left the IPL to join South Africa’s ODI team in England. Lions, who beat Kings XI Punjab in their previous game, were unchanged.
