[www.inewsguyana.com] – Lionel D’Andrade and Kelvin Johnson continued their dominant streak of road running in Trinidad and Tobago (TT) by taking the top spots in two 5k races on Sunday.
D’Andrade was in top condition, taking the top prize of the Vital Corner 5k road race, while Johnson finished second.
Meanwhile, later that afternoon, from 16:00h, the duo switched places, with Johnson taking the top spot in 15:55s while D’Andrade was second in 16:16s. Sherwyn Stapleton of TT was 3rd in 16:26.
D’ Andrade in comments highlighted that a tough road is ahead. “I am taking a rest for the upcoming October road races. I am still doing a lot of speed work and mileage. A lot of upcoming races so I have plenty training to do,” he said.
The first road race is the Palo Seco 5k scheduled for October 5 in Trinidad.
