[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of pedal cyclist Wayne Giddings, 29 years, of Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, who was struck down by a motor vehicle along the Goedverwagting Railway Embankment at about 09:30h. today, Monday April 28.
Police investigations have revealed that Giddings allegedly rode out from behind a mini-bus and into the path of the oncoming motor vehicle and was struck down.
According to the Police, Giddings got up and ran away from the scene and the driver made a report to the police at Sparendaam Police Station.
It was noted that Ranks visited the scene and following investigations, Giddings was found lying on a street in Goedverwagting. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
