[www.inewsguyanna.com] – Angela Khan of Cummings Lodge appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alex Moore charged with murdering 37 – year – old Bharrat Sugrim on Sunday, August 24 at Cummings Lodge.
She was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was remanded to prison until September 25.
She was also charged with wounding her husband, Dhaniram Seewah, to which she pleaded guilty. The Magistrate sentenced her to six months imprisonment for this offence.
Khan allegedly murdered Sugrim while she and her husband were involved in a violent drunken brawl. Sugrim, who was a visitor to the home of the couple on Sunday attempted to intervene as a peacemaker when he was stabbed once to the region of the heart.
