Guyana Amazon Warriors fans, as early as 20:00hrs on Monday night, left their homes to ensure they were first in line to get their hands on physical tickets for this year’s Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The GAW Box Office at Camp Street, Georgetown opened its doors on Tuesday morning for the sale of tickets for the – regular season games to be hosted at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence this year.
For the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ games, Green Stand tickets are priced at $6000, Red Stand at $5,500, Orange Stand $3500 and grass mound $2,500. All of the Warriors’ home games will begin at 19:00hrs on game day.
For the day games at the National Stadium, featuring neutral teams, only Green Stand tickets are available for purchase and have been priced at $2000.
Individual patrons are being allowed to purchase 10 tickets per game.
Meanwhile, the first fans to get their hands on tickets were a group from Berbice, who revealed that they left home at 8pm last evening and began lining up in Georgetown at 12am.
“We didn’t really sleep, we were to see if anybody coming and line up before us. Yes very much excited,” Balram shared.
The Box Office will operate from 09:00hrs to 16:30hrs on weekdays and from 09:00hrs to 13:00hrs on Saturday. The Office will be closed on Sundays.
In addition, the GAW Merchandise Store, housed in the same building, has also been opened for business.
The Guyana leg of this year’s RBL CPL season bowls off on Wednesday, September 13, with a clash between the home team and the defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs.
On Thursday, September 14, GAW will take on the St Lucia Kings.
The Amazon Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, September 16, in a usually anticipated clash with the Trinbago Knight Riders. Earlier on that day, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will oppose the Jamaica Tallawahs from 10:00hrs.
The next day game at Providence, also bowling off at 10am, will see the St. Lucia Kings and Jamaica Tallawahs locking horns on Sunday, September 17. Later that night, GAW will come up against the Barbados Royals.
Those games will be followed by the knockouts and finals in Guyana, tickets for which have not been made available as yet.
