The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that as of December 20, 2022, one more person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,286.
The victim has been identified as an 86-year-old female from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) who was unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, 46 new cases of the virus were detected, taking the total positives recorded to date to 71,963.
There is one person in the ICU while eight are in institutional isolation and 238 in home isolation.
Recoveries stand at 70,431.
