[www.inewsguyana.com] – As the Ministry of Tourism prepares for the upcoming Guyana Festival, Courts Guyana donated $2M towards the initiative. The cheque was handed over by Courts Country Manager Clyde de Haas to Minister of Tourism (ag) Irfaan Ali.
de Haas said the Company view the festival as a unique opportunity which will create tourism awareness both locally and internationally.
Minister Ali expressed his gratitude towards the company for their support and added that, “Courts is always bringing value home”, which is also the aim of the Ministry for the Festival. He said that this festival is a means of attracting overseas- based Guyanese to return to their country.
The inaugural Guyana Festival will see the country’s traditional music, dance, food, art and craft being exhibited at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence on August 8 to 10.
The three-day event will be marketed in North America and the Caribbean, and is aimed at bringing awareness to Guyana’s diverse cultural heritage, and generally the nature of its tourism product locally, regionally and internationally.
