Basheer Harinauth, also called ‘Bouy’, who was wanted for the murder of Corentyne businessman Shameer Ally, called ‘Kazac’, was arrested at Moleson Creek on Monday. He is expected to be arraigned with murder at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court.
Ally’s body was discovered by Police lying in a pool of blood at his home at Grant 1805 Weld Tank Dam, Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) on October 24, 2015.
Reports are Police were investigating a report of threatening language and damage to property and had gone to Ally’s home. After calling out for Ally for some time without any response, the Police Officers ventured into the yard and made the discovery.
It was reported that Ally and the suspect had an argument over a long-standing dispute and Ally had gone to his home at Lot 15 Grant 1805 and damaged several windows.
Police investigations had led to the arrest of two men, but they were subsequently released.
