Police have arrested a 37-year-old man, who was found with a shotgun on Monday night in Wash Clothes, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to Police, the man was discovered with the 12-gauge single barrel shotgun in a wooden boat by an Anti-Crime Unit which was on patrol.
As such, he was taken into Police custody and is assisting with investigations.
Last month, two males were arrested in the Cuyuni River, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), after they were found with a shotgun and two cartridges.
Based on reports received, Police ranks acting on information went to a popular shop at Melongy Landing, Cuyuni River, where they conducted a search.
It was during the search that the shotgun and ammunition were found.
That gun find came days after Police in G Division found two shotgun locks, four shotgun chokes, one shotgun pistol grip, one mini mag light, one shotgun choke spanner, and a number of shotgun pellets buried at a farm at Adventure, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam). Two pairs of socks, two handguards and two knee guards were also found at the location.
