A stakeholders meeting is currently in process at the Guyana International Convention center on the controversial Amaila Falls Hydro Project.
A number of representatives from government and the private sector are in attendance.
President Donald Ramotar is also slated to address the gathering. Prime Minister Samuel Hinds addressed the forum, and reiterated the importance of the project.
Prime Minister Hinds gave a historical background on the initiative and revealed that in 2003, a decision was made not to go ahead with this project because of the high cost of fuel on the world market.
Currently addressing the forum is Housing Minister, Irfaan Ali.
