[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – Seven – year old construction worker, Calvin Dover of Bent Street, Wortmanville, was remanded to prison today by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine – Beharry on attempted robbery, possession of a fireman and ammunition charges.
Dover pleaded not guilty to all three charges, one of which alleged that Friday, September 26 at Stabroek Market, Georgetown, being armed with a gun he attempted to rob Dave Rodrigues.
The second charge alleged that on the same day he also had in his possession 11 live rounds of ammunition, when he is not the holder of a firearm license.
It is also alleged that on the same day at Stabroek Market, he had in his possession, a revolver when he is not licensed to carry a weapon.
Representing the defendant was Attorney – at – law, Adrian Thompson, who told the Court that Dover has a pending unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition case before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
He was remanded and the matter was adjourned to October 17.
