[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Bounty Colts prevailed in the end to win comfortably against the Trinity Grid Holding Pacesetters on Friday to be crowned second division champs of the Trifecta tournament at Burnham hard court.
A close game throughout, Colts made a final run towards the end of the game that put the game away for a 78-66 win. Nikkoloi Smith scored a team high 15 points to lead the Colts to the win while Dexter Walcott had 14 points as well.
Leonard Primo and Delon LaRose had 10 and 12 points respectively to contribute to the complete offensive display the Colts put on as a team.
Travis Williams had a game high 23 points in the loss for the Pacesetters. Meanwhile, in the first division opener Pepsi Sonics topped Melanie Patriots 79-66.
Jason Squires was in top form on offence with a game high 22 points while Earl O’Neal had 17 points in the win. Trevor Smith had 14 points to add as well.
Floyd Arthur was the leading scorer for the Patriots in the loss with 21 points. Ashton Adams had 15 points while Kurtley English had 12 to boot in the loss. The tournament will continue next weekend at the Burnham Hard Court.
