“To this end we have always maintained a very cordial and mutually beneficial relationship that served to enhance the lives and welfare of many of our citizenry. We have no doubt that with Guyana joining the membership of the Islamic Development Bank it will give the government the opportunity to widen the scope of assistance and funding that will redound to the benefit our people and country,” the CIOG stated.
The CIOG said it wishes the Government of Guyana and the Minister of Finance every success in strengthening and cementing this important relationship.
The CIOG also pledge its support to the Government in giving any assistance or information that may be required in the field of Islamic banking and other areas that the Islamic Development Bank and Government would be working.
