A family, including two young children, are now left homeless following a fire at their Unity, East Coast Demerara home on Monday evening.
According to information received, at around 19:15hrs, two children- ages 6 and 5 years old- were reportedly home alone in the two story wooden building they shared with their parents.
The 5-year-old was reportedly playing with matches, when a sofa in the home caught alight.
This resulted in the house quickly being engulfed in flames.
