Police are investigating an alleged shooting of 43-year-old Shemroy King, a chicken vendor of Seadam, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara.
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 20:30hrs at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Reports are that the victim was standing on the on the road, having a conversation with his child mother when he heard a loud explosion, sounding like gunshot.
He them felt a burning sensation to his right elbow and saw blood pouring from his elbow; it was then he realized that he was shot.
The victim, after the observation, immediately joined a taxi and proceeded to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor.
He his presently is receiving treatment, and his condition listen as stable.
A warhead was recovered from his right hand.
Checks were made to locate the child mother but without success. Several persons were questioned but no further information received.
Investigation are in progress.
