[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – Five – year old Samantha Edwards; a businesswoman was placed before the court for assault and abusive language. Edwards pleaded not guilty to both charges before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
According to the allegations, on October 18 at East La Penitence Georgetown, she assaulted Susan Hubert and on the same day she also made use of abusive language against the said complainant.
Meanwhile, the complainant was also placed before the court, charged with assault and assault causing actual bodily harm. It is alleged that on the same day she assaulted Samantha Edwards along with a 15 – year – old girl.
Police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt told the court that Hubert pulled Edwards by her hair and then pushed her to the ground. In relation to the assault causing actual bodily harm charge, the court heard that Hubert dealt the 15 – year – old several slaps to hear face and pushed her head towards a door, resulting in abrasions to the head.
The Magistrate placed Samantha Edwards on $10,000 bail for the assault charge and $30,000 bail for the abusive language charge while Susan Hubert was placed on $10,000 bail for the assault charge and $80,000 for the assault causing actual bodily harm charge.
