A 34-year-old cashier was on Saturday evening robbed of her mobile phone, and handbag containing cash and important documents while in the vicinity of, Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara.
Based on information received, the victim- identified as Marcia Adams of School Street, Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara (EBE)- left her place of work located in Herstelling, EBE, joined a minibus and disembarked at School Street, Peter’s Hall, where her husband was reportedly waiting for her on the public road at around 23:40hrs.
As the duo proceeded west along the street, a male reportedly rode up on a white motorcycle, brandishing a silver gun.
The armed perpetrator reportedly stopped in front of them, dismounted his motorcycle and proceeded to relieve Adams of one Blu mobile phone valued $25,000, one shoulder bag valued $4,500- which reportedly contained her identification card, Bank card, a bunch of keys, and $35,340 in cash.
The suspect then made good his escape east along the said street, turning north on to the East Bank Demerara public road.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
An investigation is currently ongoing.
