Police officers on Thursday evening seized a motorcar which was suspected to be used in the execution of a robbery.
Police Headquarters say that ranks, acting on information received of a planned robbery, went to an area at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) at around 18:23hrs.
On arrival, it was observed that a red motorcar fitting the description given was approaching.
The ranks attempted to stop the car, however the driver sped away.
A chase ensued but the driver succeeded in eluding the police.
The car was subsequently found abandoned at the back of Tuschen Housing Scheme with the key inside and the doors opened.
It was taken to the Leonora Police Station and lodged.
The owner, who operates a car rental service, was contacted and after being interviewed, she was placed in custody pending further investigations.
