Sources close to the operations of CANU in Georgetown, confirmed that the agency is in contact with Canadian law enforcement agencies on the matter.

Investigations are also being conducted locally since the operation is said to have links to South America, including Guyana.Dwight-F

Guyanese Dwidth Ferguson, 32, who is closely associated to local entertainment company Hits and Jams is presently being sought by Canadian authorities after they intercepted and broke up a massive cocaine and gun smuggling ring that also saw the arrest of twelve persons.

The agencies in Canada have been moving to charge thirteen persons but were only able to charge twelve since Ferguson cannot be located.

According to media reports out of Canada, the thirteen persons are considered key players in a ring which organize the importation and smuggling of cocaine and weapons into Canada.

The investigation which has been ongoing since 2014, netted huge successes earlier this week when the lawmen mad the arrest.

In the lead up to the busts the authorities have been able to intercept guns and cocaine which were shipped into Canada through one of the country’s airport.

According to information, Dwidth Ferguson is presently in Canada but might not be able to travel out since he is now on a wanted list and airport security, customs officers, immigration officers and other law enforcement agencies both in Canada and the United States are on the lookout for him.
