Some five persons are expected to be charged later today in connection with a major drug bust made by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Wednesday last in Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
The five accused have been identified.
According to CANU, some 35 kilograms of marijuana and 13.8 kilograms of cocaine were discovered after a search was conducted in a motor vehicle that the five were traveling it.
The illegal substances were hidden in two large blue containers in the trunk of the vehicle.
CANU has since announced that this is one of the major drug busts since the entity came into establishment.
