[www.inewsguyana.com] – Workers of the National Library, family members, friends and personnel of the Ministry of Education have gathered at the corners of New Garden and Shiv- Chanderpaul Drive in Georgetown where a candle light vigil is being held for the late Chief Librarian Gillian Thompson.
The Senior Public Servant was killed on Christmas Eve Day after a car slammed into the bus she was traveling in minutes before she commenced a toy distribution drive organized by the National Library.
The car that slammed into the bus which belonged to the National Library was being chased by the police and had suspected bandits in it when the accident occurred.
A book of condolence has been opened for the Chief Librarian at Libraries across the country. She will be buried on Saturday. [Leroy Smith]
