[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Beverage Company under their Busta brand along with the Petra organization outfitted all teams with Busta branded jerseys on Tuesday evening before the start of the tournament.
At the simple handing over ceremony, held at the Brandsville Hotel, General Manager of Guyana Beverage Company, Robert Selman who noted his pleasure in being part of venture, made it clear that Petra are the organizers of the tournament and not Busta.
“I want to make it clear Guyana Beverage Company Inc. will not be responsible for any act of indiscipline or any other issue that may bring the game into disrepute. Our involvement is as the title sponsor and nothing else so I don’t want anyone to approach me or the company to make a complaint. We know the Petra Organization is capable and that is why we came onboard because of their track record and because I know about the struggle,” Selman stated.
Selman also stressed the importance of discipline while revealing that Busta hopes to expand the tournament to other regions, come next year.
Meanwhile Busta Brand manager from Trinidad and Tobago Christine Kellawan highlighted the company’s eagerness to see a successful tournament due to popular brand that is Busta.
Director of the Petra Organization, Troy Mendonca was also keen on highlighting the organization’s track record of always hosting successful tournaments that follow all the rules of the game.
The tournament will begin tonight at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda, from 19:00h.
