[www.inewsguyana.com] – Businessman, Lawrence Patterson, known as ‘Squashe’ of Zeskendren Mahaica, was robbed yesterday afternoon, while driving along the No. 5 Bramfield Public Road, East Corentyne.
According to a police media release, a silver grey Carina car suddenly drove up alongside the 37 – year – old businessman, causing him to apply brakes and to pull along the Northern foot path to avoid a collision.
A gunman exited the front passenger seat of the car, pointed a gun at the businessman and demanded cash and other valuables. Police noted that the gunman robbed the man of $227, 000 which was on the passenger seat of the car.
The car then turned and speed away in the direction of the Berbice River Bridge. Investigations are ongoing.
