Hours after reportedly hiring a labourer to do some work in his yard, a businessman is claiming that the man held him at gunpoint and robbed him on Tuesday evening while he was in his Hadfield Street, Lodge, Georgetown home.
Based on information received, the 41-year-old businessman, told police that he hired a man to trim trees in his yard on Tuesday morning.
However, he is alleging that at about 22:00hrs, the man returned to his house, with a female accomplice, knocked on his door and proceeded to rob him.
The businessman said he was held at gunpoint and the bandits managed to search his home before fleeing with some $65,000 in cash, his gold ring and a Blu mobile phone.
A report was made immediately after the duo fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Investigations are ongoing.
