…24.9 kilograms cannabis, 200 grams cocaine found in vehicle transporting passengers to Lethem
A bus driver of Tabatinga, Lethem is now in custody of the Police after he was, in the wee hours of Sunday morning, found with a large quantity of cannabis and cocaine in his possession.
The 55-year-old man was said to be transporting passengers to Lethem at the time of the discovery. He was attempting to pass through a checkpoint at the Mabura Police Station, Linden at around 04:00hrs.
This publication understands that the vehicle was thoroughly searched by ranks, acting on a tipoff, and the 24.9 kilograms of cannabis and 200 grams of cocaine were unearthed.
As such, the man was questioned about the discovery and later taken into Police custody, where investigations are still being conducted.
He is being processed for Court.
