[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police are not ruling out the possibility of seeking a High Court order to extend the detention period for two Lusignan brothers who are being questioned for the disappearance of 17 – year – old Dhanrag Latchman.
Commander of the C Division, Assistant Police Commissioner Christopher Griffith told iNews that the 72 hour period should be up on Sunday but tomorrow the police will be approaching the High Court to seek permission to hold the men longer once the evidence suggest that they be kept longer for questioning.
The hope for relatives is fading as they are yet to receive any positive word on his whereabouts after he went missing on Wednesday night [June 11].
iNews has been informed that late last evening friends and relatives of the missing man travelled to Parika and searched the area for him after his car was discovered in the Parika Backdam.
Information reaching this news agency suggests that the brothers are part of a carjacking ring. There have been unconfirmed reports that there is an underground parking facility in Region 3 where persons are in the business of stripping vehicles after they hijack them from unsuspecting victims.
