[www.inewsguyana.com] – Magistrate Judy Latchman on Tuesday (January 7) granted two brothers $30,000 bail each for separate charges of simple larceny.
Eighteen – year – old Kieron Douglas of Block E Farmers Plot, Sophia pleaded not guilty to the charge which detailed that on Saturday, January 4 at Georgetown he stole three sunshades, one desk lamp and one pair of eye lashes together valued at $1,900.
Meanwhile, 21 – year – old Joel Douglas of the said address, denied the allegation which detailed that on the same day at Georgetown, he also stole from the said virtual complaint (VC) two packs of Naphthalene balls, one torch light and a toy gun together valued at $2,000.
Attorney-at-Law Paul Fung-A-Fat who represented the duo made an application for his clients to be granted bail in a reasonable sum.
The Defence Lawyer said both brothers are laborers and on the day in question nothing was found in Kieron’s possession but a sunshade was found on Joel which both he and the VC are claiming ownership of.
The matter stands adjourned until January 15.
