In light of the strong disapproval and protest action taken by teachers and students of the Brickdam Secondary School in response to the Education Ministry’s plan to have them relocated to various schools across Region Four due to the present condition of the building, a new agreement has been made between the parties involved.
With this latest development, it is expected that all students attending the above-mentioned learning institution will return to classes as early as tomorrow after some works were executed on the building over the past few days thereby minimising safety hazards.
The decision by the Ministry of Education to temporarily close the Brickdam Secondary School and have its teachers as well as students relocated by means of transfers to other educational facilities in the City had met with much disapproval from both teachers and students. Parents of students attending the school also came out in support of the protest action held today to force the ministry to review its decision.
