[www.inewsguyana.com] – A truck taking cane cutters to the cane fields at Albion this morning toppled over causing injuries to several of the workers.
While the extent of the injuries is not yet known, an Estate Manager has confirmed with iNews, that there were no fatalities.
The Manager also explained that efforts are underway to rush the workers out to the estate’s Dispensary and/or nearby hospitals, based on the seriousness of their injuries.
At this time, no one can verify how many workers were on board the truck.
Each truck is authorized to carry a maximum of Sixty (60) persons; however, based on the labour turnout, the truck could have been carrying less.
