[www.inewsguyana.com] – An accident on the West Coast of Berbice has claimed the life of a 40 – year – old differently – abled man on Thursday afternoon, November 26, 2015.
He has been identified as Shermon (only name given) also known as ‘deaf boy,’ of Seafield Village, West Coast Berbice.
iNews has been reliably informed that at approximately 15:00 hrs, the man was riding his bicycle on the Rising Sun Public Road, heading East, while the car was heading in the opposite direction when they collided.
According to reports, the impact of the accident resulted in Shermon losing his hand and shoulder, which ended up inside the car, while one of his legs was left on the southern side of the road and the rest of his body on the northern side.
iNews understands that the car only came to a halt approximately 400 yards away from the point of impact. The man was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
