[www.inewsguyana.com] – A horrific accident in West Coast Berbice has claimed the lives of two men on Wednesday afternoon, December 16.
Information reaching iNews revealed that the accident occurred at approximately 14:00 hrs on the Experiment Public Road, West Coast Berbice and involved two cars which collided head on.
iNews understands that one of the cars caught fire on point of impact while the two men were trapped inside.
Dead are 48-year old Shiv Hanoman, who is a Guyanese residing in Canada and 22-year old Nehru Bankay of Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.
Reports indicate that five persons were rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital and some of the injured have been identified as Nigel Trotz, Fiona Rasul and Phillis (only name given).
iNews understands that two of those persons are reportedly unconscious.

One of the occupant killed in this collision was my uncle shiv persaud, he was staying in guyana for a couple of months but is from toronto, ont, ca . We found out 6 am this morning after a cousin posted his death on facebook, it was hard to belive at first but after calling family in berbice we found out the worst, it’s hard as i spoke with him 2 hrs before his death and was a shock to find this out. Now we are planning a funeral and trying to bring his remains back to canada. May God bless his soul, R.I.P uncle Shiv!

West Coast Berbice! That’s where I was in a vehicle as a passenger, which crashed into another vehicle two years ago – thank goodness I was not too badly hurt. Condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims of this latest crash.
