The lifeless body of a 51-year-old man was on Monday morning discovered lying in a Cane Field at Blairmont, West Bank Berbice (WBB). The man has been identified as Rawle Clifton Gregory of Lot 224 West Ithaca, WBB.
According to information received, Gregory was last seen by his relatives on Saturday evening, just before he left home to attend a party in Rosignol, WBB.
His body was fished out of a trench in a cane field with several marks of violence on his forehead and arms. The body is presently at the Fort Wellington Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination.
An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
