[www.inewsguyana.com] – Following their 15 run defeat over a troubled England unit, West Indies Captain Dwayne Bravo has backed his charges to come alive again in the Second One Day International set for Sunday.
“We batted well, we watched the field and we played to our strengths and we took our chances and it worked for us,” said the ODI Skipper.
He went on to say “We know England as a professional unit definitely and they are going to go back to the drawing board and try to cut us off, so we have to do the same.”
“It was good for us today (Friday) and another day it might work against us but like I said, I’m happy the team won the first game; it means a lot for us as a group and the start we get, it shows a lot character for us to bounce back” the older Bravo said
A solid stance between Lendl Simmons (65) and Dwayne Bravo staged a fight back to take the West Indies to 153 after they were 45-4.
Bravo and Darren Sammy then blazed a trail to the 269-6 total, Bravo ending unbeaten on 87 off 151 balls while Sammy mowed the opposition with 61 off 52 balls before he was caught on the last delivery of the innings.
The second game is set for 09:30 tomorrow.
