A Bourda Market vendor was late on Wednesday night shot and killed by one of three bandits at the said market who reportedly robbed him as he was preparing to leave his Robb Street, Bourda stall.
Dead is 45-year-old, Troy Ramalho called “Rasta” of North Road, Georgetown who was shot at about 23:00h.
According to reports received, the food vendor was packing up his stall which is located between Alexander and Bourda following a day’s work.
After packing, the man sat awaiting a taxi when he was reportedly accosted by the three bandits who held him at gunpoint.
INews understands that one of bandits shot Ramalho to his chest while the other two men pulled off three gold chains which the now dead man had wrapped around his arm.
The robbers also took away three gold rings along with a cellphone before promptly making good their escape in an unknown direction.
The vendor was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he died while receiving treatment.
CCTV footage was obtained which is being used by investigators.
