(Trinidad Express) Missing mother Sharlene Somai has been found, dead. She was killed and her body dumped in the bushes near her home at Peterfield Village, Chaguanas. It appears she died the very night she went missing.
According to the information given to police, Somai walked away from her home to go to a nearby parlour at around 8.p.m on Tuesday, leaving her four year old son and common law husband at home.
The 23-year-old businesswoman, who recently opened a food business in Valsayn, never returned. Her cell phone was found in the front porch of the family home.
The family knew immediately that something was wrong.
They searched the area all of Wednesday and today, and criticised the police for their slow response.
This afternoon, police were led to the body by Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne who said he received information from an anonymous source.
Images from the scene shows the woman lying face down in bushes field, off Petersfield Road. There was a black bag over her head.
Somai’s brother Christopher Somai told the Express this afternoon that his sister’s body had been found in the canefield in Peterfield.
