A 53-year-old Golden Grove resident reportedly drowned between the hours of 16:00hrs on February 12, 2018 and 14:00hrs on February 13, 2018 in the vicinity of Nabaclis on the East Coast of Demerara.
Dead is Terrence James called “Dog Hand” of Sancho Street, Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara.
According to police information, the deceased, who is a known alcoholic in the village, was seen in an inebriated state at a restaurant and bar located on the Nabaclis public road on February 12, 2018.
INews understands that at around 17:00hrs, James allegedly left the bar for an unknown destination and it was not until the following day that his body was found floating, face down, in the Nabaclis trench.
The discovery was made by a 49-year-old welder, who reportedly came out of his yard located to the eastern side of the trench, at around 14:00hrs yesterday.
James’ body was clad in a yellow jersey and a cream coloured three quarter pants. He also had a red and black lunch bag hanging from his left shoulder.
According to the police no foul pay is suspected as the man’s body was examined and no marks of violence were observed.
