The body of a DeKendren, West Coast Demerara (WCD) carpenter who left his home in a drunken state on Monday last to go fishing was on Wednesday pulled from the Atlantic Ocean.
The man who has been identified as 58-year-old, Sheriff Yusuf called “Bird” of Lot 53 De Kendren, WCD lived alone in a flat concrete house. According to reports received, the man was seen consuming alcohol on the day he went missing.
INews understands that this has been a normal habit of the now dead man.
However, after several days passed and there were no signs of the man, an alarm was raised and a search was launched. It was then related to the police that the man might have gone out at sea.
During the search, the boat in which Yusuf left to go out at sea was discovered but there were still no signs of him.
However, the decomposed body of the man was eventually pulled from the Ocean at around 06:00h on Wednesday. It is also being reported that after examination, no marks of violence was seen on the most exposed part.
The body is presently lying at the Ezekiel funeral home awaiting a post mortem schedule for Friday.
