The lifeless body of a 70-year-old man was discovered along the Number 23 Village (Armadale) West Coast Berbice (WCB) public road, lying close to his motorcycle.
Dead is Nathaniel Sears a.k.a “Hurry Up” who was last seen by relatives when he left his Number 9 Village, WCB home to collect a tractor at Onverwagt.
INews understands that the man was supposed to drive the tractor, which was to pull a trailer carrying the Mahaica/Mahaicony/Abary-Agricultural Development Authority (MMA-ADA) float for the Jubilee Parade.
According to reports, after Sears would have collected the tractor, he was scheduled to head to Georgetown so that the vehicle(s) could be dressed up for the parade.
However, he never made it to his destination. It is believed that he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.
Police are presently conducting investigations into the man’s death.
Sears leaves to mourn his wife Norma and five children.
