[www.inewsguyana.com] – A search and rescue operation has been launched in the Tumatumari area in Region 8 for two persons following a boat accident.
iNews understands that a boat with seven passengers encountered difficulty and went under while navigating the area in the vicinity of the hydroplant on the Potaro River . Four persons have been rescued.
Reports indicate that the body of Captain, Dennis Williams has been recovered, while two remain missing. They have been identified as 7 – year – old Jaeden Pereira of Micobie and 20 – year – old Levi [only name given] of Monkey Mountain.
The injured are Sylvia Pio, Crawford Pio, Clemson Andrew all of Micobie and Carl Joseph of Lethem
The Regional Administration has deployed a team to the area and has offered resources to the village for the search and rescue efforts.
