[www.inewsguyana.com] – The bloodied remains of a man of African descent was found just after noon on Friday (January 3) at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
The man, who appeared to have dreadlocks was clad in a stripe jersey and was found in a trench filled with bushes.
The discovery was made by a passerby, who then alerted residents in the area. The Police were subsequently informed. While the media did not get a chance to get close to the body, eyewitnesses related that the man appeared to have been murdered.
The parts of his body which floated above the water were reportedly covered in blood. Marks of violence were also visible, iNews was told.
Residents and police are yet to identify the man. Arrangements are being made to have his body taken to a city morgue. An investigation is underway.
