The parents of the siblings who perished in a vehicular accident on Tuesday last, are now conscious and in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Commander of “D” Division, Leslie James, told INews this morning that the Police are awaiting clearance from the Doctors at the hospital to conduct their interviews with the injured parents, Mark Halley and Michell Miguel.
He also stated that the post mortem of the two children, 10-month-old Marvin Miguel and 7-year-old Tina Miguel, has been postponed from being conducted today, to Monday “or sometime next week.”
In the wee hours of Tuesday morning last, the family of four who reside at Covent Garden on the East Bank of Demerara, were travelling to Parika, East Bank Essequibo, when the driver of the dark grey Premio, Mark Halley lost control of the vehicle on the Blankenburg Public road and collided with two vehicles –a Toyota Tundra and a mini-bus- that were parked on the roadway.
As a result of the accident, the two children died and their parents were hospitalised.
It has been reported that Miguel’s daughter, Tina usually resides with relatives in Lethem, Region Nine, and had only gone to “spend the holiday with her mother.”
