[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Berbice River Bridge Incorporated has come on board with the Berbice Cricket Board [BCB] for their second year as a sponsor for their 50 Over tournament.
At a brief ceremony on Thursday, March 13, Chief Executive Officer of the Company Omadat Samaroo said the company is fulfilling its part to society.
“It [the Berbice River Bridge] also discharges its corporate responsibilities and plays an integral part in society” Samaroo said.
Meanwhile, Third Vice President in the B.C.B. Julian Cambridge said that the tournament will be played on a knockout in which 14 teams will be participating.
He indicated that first division tournament will also see the winner carting off $80,000 while the runners up will take home $40,000 and the man of series will take home $10,000.
The tournament is expected to be of the highest standard.
Meanwhile, the Company will also pay for the B.C.B. to print some 20 banners featuring former Guyanese test and one day cricketers as part of an Exhibition to mark their 75th Anniversary. The exhibition is aimed at secondary schools.
