[www.inewsguyana.com] – Eighty – three – year old Mohamed Suleiman of 38 Providence, East Bank Demerara died on Tuesday evening (January 13) at the Georgetown Public Hospital, hours after he was reportedly beaten by his son.
iNews understands that the elderly man was bedridden for some time now and it is not clear as to why his 53 – year – old son thrashed him. Reports indicate that the son is mentally unstable and would from time to time act in an irrational manner.
This was the case last evening when he took a piece of wood and beat the elderly man as he laid helplessly in his bed. Suleiman was taken to the hospital where he was immediately attended to by doctors but died during the course of the night.
Meanwhile, the son has been arrested and is in police custody. He is said to be a patient of Dr. Bhiro Harry’s clinic.
