Two prime suspects accused of battering to death Kumar Persaud, also called “Radika”, after he was caught witnessing them engaged in a threesome (ménage à trois) on a beach in Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) were on Tuesday afternoon brought before the court of Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Ethon Gibson, 21, and Deon Samuels, 19, both sailors from Parika, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are alleged to have murdered Persaud on June 21.
Reports are the now deceased was severely beaten by two men and a woman after he continued to look at them while they were engaged in the sexual act.
The men reportedly requested that the deceased refrain from watching them, but in a drunken state, Persaud continued to look. As such, he was “cuffed” and kicked about his body.
The beating was reportedly witnessed by another person who was also looking at the act from a different angle. Moreover, it is alleged that the men have since confessed to murdering the victim.
They were not required to plead to the indictable charge when it was read to them by the Chief Magistrate, and would remain on remand at the Camp Street Prison until July 21, when they are expected to reappear in court.
