[www.inewsguyana.com] – Christopher Barnwell will assume the role as Captain of the Guyana squad for the NAGICO regional super 50 tournament.
The Guyanese all rounder who has been a permanent fixture in most formats, will take the leadership role of the 14 member unit.
He will be assisted by former captains Shivnarine Chanderpaul who has been given the vice captain role as well as Ramnaresh Sarwan who has been selected as well.
The lone new face in the team is opening batsman Robin Bacchus. The former under 19 opener will Join the likes of Trevon Griffith at the top of the batting order in a team with a firm middle order.
Apart from Chanderpaul and Sarwan, the squad also include West Indies player Narsingh Deonarine, Veerasammy Permaul and Assad Fudadin.
The NAGICO Super50 will run from January 30 to February 17, with all matches being hosted in Trinidad and Tobago.
